git-daemon-sysvinit software package provides fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (git-daemon service), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install git-daemon-sysvinit
git-daemon-sysvinit is installed in your system.
Make ensure the git-daemon-sysvinit package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep git-daemon-sysvinit *
You will get with git-daemon-sysvinit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
